Getting Real About Property Management

Cleveland State University will expand innovative education, research and experiential learning in real estate and property management, thanks to a transformative $1.2 million gift from the NRP Group and the Millennia Companies. 

The gift will create the NRP & Millennia Center for Property Management in the Monte Ahuja College of Business. The Center will house academic programs in property management and real estate, which will produce the future workforce and leaders that the evolving local and national industry requires.

More than 20 percent of jobs in Ohio are related to the real estate industry. With an estimated $19 billion in planned or completed real estate development in downtown Cleveland since 2010, the need for formally educated property managers is skyrocketing.

“CSU has a rich history of partnering with businesses to address industry and employer needs,” notes President Harlan Sands. “This new Center does exactly that while helping students acquire job-ready knowledge and skills.”

The Center will include an applied research initiative and a robust internship program, both tailored to the needs of real estate and property management firms, as well as a scholarship program. The effort will further establish CSU as a regional hub for innovative education and scholarship in business administration, entrepreneurship and economic development.

“We continually seek out A-plus players for our property management team and throughout our company, and the creation of the NRP & Millennia Center for Property Management will contribute significantly to developing that talent,” says J. David Heller, CEO of the NRP Group. 

“Having earned a degree from CSU and engaged with student externs at Millennia, the opportunity to develop this program in partnership with my alma mater is a special honor,” adds 1989 alumnus Frank T. Sinito, CEO of the Millennia Companies.
